London. October 19, 2008. Hiten Mistry, 19, and Navadini Vijajkumar, 18, who performed the opening act, enjoy the dancing during the Diwali, festival of lights, celebrations. Thousands of Londoners gathered at Trafalgar Square on Sunday for Diwali, which has religious significance for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains, and is celebrated by many communities throughout the capital. Dances of many styles including Kathak from North India, Oddissi dancers from Orissa, classical Bharata Natyam, contemporary dance, and a touch of Bhangra were performed.
