Commemorative fare cards were issued by the Metro Transit Authority at the Shady Grove, Maryland Metro stop at 5:30am on the day of Barack Obama's historic Presidential inauguration. An estimated two million people flocked to Washington D.C. for the ceremony, enduring freezing temperatures to witness Obama take the oath of office becoming the first African-American to become President, the 44th in the history of the United States of America.
